What is the Apprentice and Trainee Subsidy?

Alright all you good folk of the nation out there who have been giving our young wippa snappas a chance of becoming our future tradesmen.

Your noble efforts have been recognised by the Australian government and in return for your do-goodery, they have decided to cough up half of their wages from Jan 1 until the end of September!

So, without further ado, we bring you…

The Apprentices & Trainees Subsidy Calculator

We’ve taken a look at the numbers here ourselves, and it’s pretty clear that since the government is supporting apprentices and trainees by covering half their pay cheque…

Apprentices are officially worth their weight in gold…

At least good ones...

But we will leave this up to your judgment. Just watch the video above to see how much you might be entitled to for having apprentices on board, and make up your own mind.

How the apprentice and trainee subsidy works
  • If you have less than 20 employees working on the books for your business and also employee apprentices, you will be eligible for a rebate for 50% of the wages that you pay to your employees.
  • The subsidy will issue you a rebate of up to a maximum of $7,000 per quarter for each apprentice or trainee that you employ during the period from Jan 1st 2020 to Sept 30 2020.
  • Download the calculator now to see how much your business is eligible to receive.

Did I mention that it also applies to new apprentices that you hire?

This literally means you could hire a 3rd year for less than $400 a week… surely that’s a money maker?

In summary, you might want to hold on to your apprentices, cause at these rates, if you don’t want your apprentices – someone else will!

If you haven’t already done so, check out the Cashflow Boost Calculator because you could be up for some more incentives from the government!
